5 Awesome Things About Don 2

After almost 5 long years, the much-awaited sequel to the 2006 hit Don is finally set to hit theaters this Christmas. Bollywood fans went crazy over the release of the first teaser and excitement is clearly building for the action-thriller, Don 2: The Chase Continues. So, why are fans so excited? Here are 5 awesome things about Don 2.

5. It’s a sequel that actually deserves a sequel. Though it was a remake, Don still left viewers with a twisted and completely unexpected ending – and one which actually warrants a sequel. The fact that Don actually got away completely baffled viewers and left many questions to be answered. Where did Don go? How will Roma seek revenge? Only a Don 2 would be able to answer these questions.

4. The action. In just one short teaser we see multiple vehicles blow up, car chases, and SRK flying down the side of the building. One can only imagine what more there is in store!

3. The “Junglee Billis.” Priyanka Chopra is all set to reprise her role as Roma, while Lara Dutta has been roped in for another leading role. With these sexy sirens in the movie, viewers are surely in for a treat that will undoubtedly include action, romance, and plain girl power.

2. The style. In 2006, Don presented us with a modern style never before seen in Bollywood and Don 2 will be no different. Judging from the recent trailer, Don 2 will be just as sleek as its predecessor with especially chic costuming, music, special effects, and the German locales.

1. Shah Rukh Khan. Need we say more? Shah Rukh Khan brings an impeccable style to the character of Don and shows us a cruelly attractive type of evil. From his flawless dialogue delivery to his dashing looks Shah Rukh not only owns his character, but owns the movie itself. And, since King Khan will reportedly be donning a six-pack in this movie, we can look past that long hair!

With less than a month to go until the release, we’ve already discovered so much awesome in the film.

NATO forces attack Pakistan soil

In September 2010, a NATO helicopter attack on a Pakistani border post in the tribal regions killed two soldiers. Pakistan closed traffic for NATO convoys for a few days but later reopened the route. The U.S., wary of its part-time ally, begun moving more supplies for Afghanistan through Central Asia. The Pakistan land route, from the port city of Karachi across country to two major borders with Afghanistan, still accounts for roughly half of NATO supplies coming in to Afghanistan.

Since that incident, which blew over, the U.S.-Pakistan relationship has deteriorated. Pakistan' army was embarrassed and angered by the covert raid by U.S. Navy SEALs in May that killed Osama bin Laden in a Pakistani army garrison town. That came after a Central Intelligence Agency contractor shot dead two armed men in Lahore in January and was briefly jailed.

Just last week, Pakistan's ambassador to the U.S. was forced to resign amid allegations he had sought Washington's help to reduce the power of Pakistan's army, which plays a large role in domestic politics.

A predawn attack by North Atlantic Treaty Organization forces Saturday killed at least 24 Pakistani soldiers and injured 13 others, adding further stress to the U.S.'s troubled relationship with Pakistan and complicating efforts to push forward peace talks with the Taliban.

Pakistan's army reacted angrily, calling the "unprovoked" raid on two Pakistani border posts an "irresponsible act." The army said NATO helicopters and fighter aircraft, under the cover of darkness, had bombed the posts in Mohmand tribal region, a lawless border area that which abuts Afghanistan's eastern Kunar province.

In retaliation, Pakistan's security forces began to turn back scores of Pakistani-owned trucks that carry NATO supplies into Afghanistan. Mr Gilani, after chairing an emergency meeting of the country's defense committee, including Gen. Kayani, announced the formal suspension of NATO supply lines through Pakistan.

"Pakistan's sovereignty was attacked," said Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. "This is our Pakistan and we have to defend it."

Saeed Ajmal Shines

Pakistan cricketer Saeed Ajmal has moved to the number one slot in the new ICC official bowler rankings released by the International Cricket Council. Being extremely difficult to read with his variations and perfectly hidden doosra, the off-spinner earned the top position after his performance in the recent series against Sri Lanka held in the United Arab Emirates. Taking important wickets in every match he plays for Pakistan, Saeed Ajmal has risen up as one of the best spinners in the world, along with Graem Swaan of England and Daniel Vettori for New Zealand. Ajmal is also rated at the ninth position in the Test bowlers of the world.

He had an excellent time at the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, bowling at an economical rate and regularly taking wickets along with his spin partner Shahid Afridi. In April 2009, Ajmal was reported by umpires for having a suspect bowling action. An independent test the following month demonstrated that Ajmal’s arm flexed within the 15 degree tolerance allowed by the ICC and his action was cleared.

He has a well disguised doosra and keeps it as a mystery while he bowls. His technique is noted for causing more spin than speed as that is what Ajmal prefers. With his outstanding talent, he has become a leading wicket taker and a very economical bowler with the ability to restrict the opposition in the limited overs format. Due to all this, he is ruling at the top of ICC’s official bowler rankings.
